In 2008 Moldova a inregistrat o crestere economica de 7,2%, depasind, astfel, prognoza guvernului stabilita in Memorandumul de politici financiare si economice, semnat cu FMI.

Chisinau, 10 februarie ( INFOTAG ).
GDP in 2008 goes up 7.2%
In 2008 Moldova registered a 7.2%-economic growth and it exceeded in this way the Government's forecast, which was fixed in the Memorandum on Financial Policy and National Economy, signed with the International Monetary Fund.
Chisinau, February 10 ( INFOTAG ). Prime Minister Zinaida Grechanaya expressed her satisfaction with the results and remarked that in other countries of the region, for example in Ukraine, the economic growth constituted only 2.2% in 2008 and the inflation reached 22%, that exceeds Moldova's inflation indicators almost three times.
Zinaida Grechanaya said that the results, reached in 2008, give confidence that Moldova will obtain the economic growth in 2009, as well.
"The growth, achieved in 2008, is, on the one hand, a difficult starting point for overcoming these indicators in 2009, taking into consideration that Moldova's economy is within the orbit of the world economy and the consequences of the world financial crisis are more and more sensitive. And our national economy will be affected, in particular, several sections of the real sector. On the other hand, the republic's achievements in 2008 give confidence that we shall achieve an economic growth in 2009, though it is inevitable that the output in some sectors will decrease", she said.
Earlier the Government announced that it hoped to achieve a 3.5-4% growth in 2009.
Though Prime Minister Zinaida Grechanaya did not confirm the growth indicators, envisaged for 2009, she said that under these conditions the main task of the economic block of the Cabinet of Ministers is to render maximal assistance to the country's business circles, to accelerate actions on attracting new investments and to implement launched projects.
She demanded from the leaders of the ministries of the economic block to open a hot telephone line for economic entities to be informed of their problems in relations with respective institutions, аs well as of delays in regulating their activities.
Zinaida Grechanaya remarked that the Premier's e-mail box was opened for this purpose (reglementare@gov.md), where each economic entity can ask the Prime Minister to interfere, when state institutions do not observe the norms of regulating economic activities.
Earlier First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Trade Igor Dodon remarked repeatedly that the Government intended to set up a fund for rendering assistance to economic entities. With the help of this fund it will be possible to cover partially the interest on credits, received by economic entities from banks. Dodon did not exclude even a direct crediting, if new jobs are created and representatives of the vulnerable population sections get employment and so on, but he said nothing about any sources for replenishing this fund.
